Winning At Life

Tips and tricks for winning the game of life.

Tips For Acting Around A Girl On The Internet

This is pretty much only for people who, for some reason, want to get girls to like them on the internet. Whether they are hopeful they'll be their internet girlfriend or they just feel like having a girl-gamer friend will make their life more interesting, these tips will hopefully convince some boys to stop acting like douchebags.

1. For the love of god, don't ask for our name, number, RealID, etc.

Dude, maybe you're a nice guy. But chances are, if you meet a girl and then immediately ask for something personal from them, you'll just be looked at as a CREEPER. Please think about why this would happen. Try to look at it from a girl's perspective - anytime we mention we're girls (or god forbid prove we are through voice interaction), we are BESIEGED by guys, most (if not all) of whom are just interested in cybering. Gross. I could say imagine a girl doing this to you, but some guys might get off on that - instead, think of a guy doing it to you guys. Assuming you're not gay, it doesn't sound appealing, right?

It's not appealing for us either.

Wait a while. Be patient. Wait until we've known you for a little while and have shown nothing but niceness, and then ask in a polite way that allows us to easily back out of it if we're still not comfortable. And don't take that as a forever-no. If a girl backs out from a polite question with a polite answer and doesn't delete you from her friend's list, it means she likes you as a friend and they're just being safe.

And with that...

2. Stop taking our denials as personal insults.

Jfc. If I don't feel comfortable giving you my real name, don't start yelling at me. Don't start raging. And don't start being passive-aggressive. And don't start BOTHERING me about teasing or being a ho and then try to laugh it off. If you do any of that, you're guaranteed to be taken off our friends list, and we'll tell everyone we meet we have a stalker. Because yes, we do that.

3. Don't pretend because we like games and can goof around about ourselves being girls, you can start our conversations with 's'up ho'.

This only comes with months of relationship, or weeks of very, very close relationship. You wouldn't do this to a girl in real life, because if you do you're stupid, so don't do it on the internet. Just because it's the internet doesn't mean there's this sudden speed-up of social interaction time.

And finally

4. Internet girls are girls.

Hard to believe sometimes. People get so excited to see a girl on the internet, yet they're both aware and unaware of them being a woman. They're aware there's breasts involved. They're not aware we'll react to any advancement like we would in real life. For the love of god, if you don't do it in real life, DON'T DO IT ON THE INTERNET. ]:
